I always refrain from answering this question “Who is the best builder in the world?” Each of us may have a different and correct personal answer. I can name 10 bass builders whose build quality I see as being equally
excellent, and I’d probably be forgetting a couple others.
Who is the best? What I will tell you is this – I see no builder as better than Ken Lawrence. I own and play 2 of Ken’s basses – this is my endorsement. His semi-acoustics, especially, are beyond words great.
