This is our latest from the shop of the Dabeks, a husband and wife luthier located in Poland.
The Desiderium is our first solid body , and it is impressive in many regards.
Body – Heavily Roasted Ash , 10.43 lbs.
Top – Flame treated Quartersawn Oak
Neck – Lightly Roasted Ash with Ash and with roasted Ash shoulders and Ash and Oak center sections. Nut width 1.89″ , 18mm spacing at the bridge , 35″ scale – plays like a 34″ , sounds like a 36″ ( note the rearward location of the bridge , which make 1st position an easy reach )
Fingerboard – Bocote with matching pickup covers. Titanium frets
Pickups – Delano SBC
Preamp – Glockenklang 3 band with active/passive option
Case – Custom made ink Italy hardshell with a form fit interior.
This bass has a big voice, very solid fundamental in passive mode. A great place to start pre EQ.
Within the last couple of years , the word on Stradi basses has come out , they have become very busy , and lead time for a new bass is now approximately 18-24 months.
