Description
The story was that this item was found in the desert some 60+ years ago , outside a small town in New Mexico.
Bunk. This is circa 1996 Klein bass, a rare bird, first one I have seen ANYWHERE (in person or web) since I first laid eyes on one back around 1996.
While the Klein electric guitars are scarce themselves, the basses are even more so.
The body is Alder (Ash?) beneath that textured paint, the neck and bridge were supplied by Steinberger USA. Bart pickups and NTBT 2 band preamp. In great shape, with a very few paint chips. Plays like a breeze and with an electric singing voice.
Supplied with the original Klein gig bag.
I recall the Jan’96 Bass Player cover pic – Mick Karn holding one of these, also a lined fretless, in a different color. Man, MK was one of a kind!
