I met a new bass builder at NAMM, Matthieu Combe from France. I was impressed at NAMM and I’m even more impressed now that I have been able to check out these basses in the LAG laboratory – NAMM is not the place to gain a full appreciation of a bass’ tone – too much noise at NAMM. Here I have silence and a Glockenklang reference rig, here is where the truth is revealed.
