A true rare bird is this bass – only one of a very few like it. Made in 2001 and in incredibly fine condition.
As are most of the used fretless basses I see.
- Chambered Mahogany body , 2″ deep , thru body stringing
- Walnut top
- 35″ scale Maple neck, 3 piece
- Pink Ivory finger board , bridge, and nut
- Bartolini humbucker
- LR Baggs piezo
- Two volume, 1 passive tone control
- Elrick gig bag
- 8.9 lbs
Pink Ivory is touted as being one of the best choices for a fretless bass.
I expect to have an informed opinion on that in the near future.
Fast Forward – this bass is big and woody , many factors come together here magically. Materials, construction , an inspired fairly early build by a US bass builder vet of over 20 years , Chicago’s Rob Elrick.
